When to Call for a Bathroom Plumber

There are times when you have household problems that may be an inconvenience, but aren’t a huge deal. You may begin to put up with them and even work around them instead of getting these problems fixed. As time goes on, you get so used to the inconvenience that you forget things ever worked better.

But sometimes, problems worsen to the point that you can no longer ignore them. And when it comes to your bathroom, some problems are a big deal and need to be addressed sooner rather than later. If you need a bathroom plumber in Dover, PA, our team is here to help. Keep reading to learn more about when bathroom plumbing problems require expert attention.

Persistent Clogs

If any of the drains in your bathroom have persistent clogs, that’s a problem. You may have a clog in one drain or all of them. Examples include a slow-draining bathtub or sink, or a toilet that you have to plunge frequently. A clog in a single drain can be an isolated problem that is easier to address.

A clog that is impacting multiple drains may mean that the clog is deeper in your plumbing system. You may be tempted to stop at your local hardware store and grab a bottle of chemical drain cleaner, but we encourage you to skip this step and come directly to us.

Chemical drain cleaners may be a temporary solution, but they often do more harm than good. They can actually damage your plumbing fixtures and pipes to the point that they need to be replaced.

Toilet That Runs

Another toilet problem is having your toilet run all the time. When you flush your toilet, it should refill with water and then stop. If it sounds like water is constantly running in your toilet, that means gallons and gallons of water are potentially being used every day. Your toilet could easily cycle through enough gallons of water that it can cost you hundreds of dollars on your monthly water bill. You may not even realize it’s a problem until you get your next water bill.

Signs of Water Damage

If you notice any visible signs of water damage, it’s a reason to get it checked out. Examples include water spots under your sink, or on the floors or walls in your bathroom. You may not see an active leak, but water damage is an indication that there was a leak at some point. If you don’t address it, a leak could happen again and cause even more damage. Plus, leaks can lead to mold and mildew growth, which poses health risks for your family and structural risks for your home.

Dripping Faucets

A dripping faucet is very similar to a running toilet. Water is being used without a reason and costing you money on your water bills. A dripping faucet may not use as much water as a running toilet, but it is still a concern. It’s better to address the problem sooner, when it can be repaired. If you wait too long, you may need to make plumbing replacements instead, which can be more costly.
